If I am allowed to respond to this, that is what Kim told me she thought the case would be. Whether it was true or not, we'll never know.

All 11 of you Outlasted me, so you must be pretty good damn players.

My first question goes to Kim:
You were closely aligned with Tom most of the game. You made the move against him at the F6, do you think it might have been too late to gain the respect of the jurors?

I mean, I know it's no secret that Tom and I were close, but I always knew that Tom was a schemer and that was probably making a lot more deals than I was. At the end of the day I just couldn't trust him anymore. I went against him at Final 6 and I'm glad I did. Had I listened to what he told me, I would've voted for Ibrehem and been blindsided 3-2-1. But it was a risk I knew I had to take, and even though I couldn't get Ami off, it did help me cause I do indeed feel like I redeemed myself. I think I shut anyone up who was thinking I was just playing Tom's game the entire time, and I think I redeemed myself with a lot of the Chorotegas that I had to lie to along the way.
Overall I just have no regrets when it came to that move because I think at that point it became obvious that I was playing hard.

Bobby Jon:
Thanks for sticking to your word and not voting for me at the F12. I love underdog stories. However, some of the jury thinks you were a snake and made it here by luck, your input on that?

Lisa:
What in the hell did you actually do in this game besides ride coattails?

No worries Caryn. I accept that I was indeed a snake at times - I balanced multiple alliances at many points throughout the game and turned on allies for my own benefit. However, to say that I made it here by luck is missing a big part of the picture as I outlined in my opening statement. I was lucky to have guessed the hidden immunity idol password twice, but that also took initiative, determination, and some intelligent guessing.

You went offline when you were typing your answer Kim. It's like 10 minute activity. She's probably typing.

Alright, Thank you Caryn, always a pleasure.

Chris, why don't you go ahead and ask your question while we wait on Lisa, giving BJ and Kim a head start on your question.

New questions:

Congratulations to the three of you. Game well played. My qualms are with voting for a winner, not of your deservingness to be here.

Lisa, it's sad that considering you were the only person who was on every single tribe that I was on throughout the game- I feel like I spoke with most of the jury more than you. At the first tribe, you would've survived because everyone hated Mia. At the second tribe, you would've stayed because everyone didn't trust Ami. In the third tribe (if we had continued with the pre-merge phase like we thought), I'm the one who got you into a good position. And at the merge, everyone just wrote you off as a player. I want to vote for you, but to get my vote you're going to have to show me that you took control of your destiny in this game. Give me at least three instances where you made SURE your name wasn't going to be written down anytime soon. And "being UTR" is not an answer.

Bobby Jon, you're saying that you wanted votes on you those rounds- but I'm not convinced. The fact that you're even here seems like a miracle. Either own up to the fact that you had to DRAG and CLAW your way here or tell me why trying to get people to want you out of the game is a successful strategy.

Kim, it seems to me out of the Final 3 here you played the best at the merge game. But pre-merge you seemed like fodder who would've gone home quickly on a worser tribe. Tell me your pre-merge strategies in detail. A brief summary is nice, but please include self-awareness of how you were going to manage the alliances you weren't in.

You can call it riding coattails but I always saw it as just staying loyal to the people who were loyal to me. I didn't want to screw over someone who had my back just so I could say I made a "big move" Plus if I would have done something liek that then I may have been gone a long time ago.

So in other words, you were riding coattails.

Gee, thanks for that amazing answer. icon_rolleyes

Fair and good question since I didn't really elaborate this a lot in my novel of an opening statement icon_biggrin But sure, I'll give it a go. On original Chorotega, I arrived a day late and saw who the more active and likable people on the tribe were. That was Bobby Jon, Tom, Ibrehem, and Jolanda. I spent a lot of time getting to know those guys in particular, and had we never swapped from original Chorotega, I already survived Jeff and would've no doubt survived over Gregg, Wanda, and Caryn too. After that, I'm not sure, but at the beginning my options were limited and I missed out on first-night bonding so I took what I got.

Post-swap is when I really got into the thick of things with Tom. After some discussions we basically came up with two options. Caryn was an obvious choice to get booted, but at least I wasn't sure how old original Guatuso bonds were. If everyone was really done for "nuChoro" I think had we lost a challenge and voted off Caryn, if everyone really was truly down for activity and who deserved to be there, I think I would've survived over Lisa too, and I always felt that Ami and Mia liked me better than Bobby Jon in the earlier portion of the game too (which at the end of the day makes sense because when the 4th Lisa vote came through they immediately blamed Bobby and not me).

But there was another enticing option we were concocting, and had nuChoro lost a challenge, Ami could've very well been the first one gone. Had original Choro stuck together and voted Ami, we would've come out on top because Tom was our leader and he broke ties. And then had that happened, I would've survived over obviously Ami, Mia, Chris, Lisa, and then Caryn.

I am the first person to admit that my being here in the finals is very unlikely. I worked damn hard for my two immunity wins, and finding the idols when I did made my journey to the end much easier than it otherwise would have been. What I meant to say was that on the two occasions that I had idols that nobody knew about, I played differently to how I would have played without the idols. Sure, I probably would have gone without them, but there's also a small possibility that I could have turned to vote onto somebody else as I had done in the past. It was only because I had the idols that I wanted people to vote for me. Obviously that is not a good approach to the game under normal situations.
