Fake Idol

It wasn't super convincing, since you can see my horrible GIMP skills, but yeah, I figured I'd make one for when I finally played mine. That way the SECOND Jeff announced the next idol, I'd pull out this thing to scare people again. Or give it to someone or whatever.

You coulda shown people sure. hell you could even have planted it in the HII forum if you had the pw, but no it would not have been valid, lol nor would we have confirmed to anyone that it was or wasn't legit. Only if you played it at the right time - then we woulda said - that is not a HII blah blah.

I remember that there's precedent as to whether or not you're allowed to officially "give" a fake idol to another player (since idol transfer must be done through the hosts, right?), but I forget what that verdict was.

I think we came to the conclusion that if it was legit, you'd get it officially transfered, plus all the rules etc. But if it was a fake either you would just end up doing it yourself like via PM or something, or the hosts *might* transfer it, just without actually adding the rules and officialness.

idk for sure. iirc it was Penny in Greece, and she never actually got to the point of transfer - she was just thinking about doing it, and ended up just flaunting it instead.

For future seasons, we should probably consider only transferring the item itself without associated rules, anyways. The onus should be on the original owner to give the rules to the new owner, much as would be the same on the real show. This would allow for conflation between real and fake idols without letting anyone point the finger to hosts for having done something wrong or unofficial. It would be a unilateral behavior for all situations. (It would also force people to write their own rules if the fake is a total fabrication and not based on the real idol.)
