In the event that I don't get around to writing super lengthy write-ups for rounds, I'm just gonna keep a running list of what I find noteworthy.

Episode 01

No one on Palau is standing out too much in the early hours. I like Tom from the applications, but seems like he'd need more experience before really being a force. Jolanda's bluntness is... eh.

Vanuatu on the other hand, I already knew I'd be rooting for Ami and Chris. Then Chris reveals he's drunk. (That's alright.) Then he sends Ami the following:

Tell me about it. I've got a set and I don't even understand what it's doing. And the dick too. I'll walk into a room full of old men and randomly get a boner, but when I'm about to do my wife doggy-style, i get limp. The male anatomy is a mysterious beast.

Please tell me this is a quote from somewhere and not an outrageous tipsy tangent that he's decided to share with a stranger at the beginning of a social game. I'm no where near caught up with Vanuatu yet, but had to take note of that ridiculous line before I lost it.

Still working on getting tribe names down...

Edit1: Brook needs to stop quoting the reply in every PM he responds to. It's fucking obnoxious.

Edit2: All of the Palau kids re-posting Brenda's avi. icon_lol

I think Chorotega will be a slow burn. Wanda, I love, I hope she can get the hang of the game. Jolanda, Gregg, Ibrehem, Tom all amazing. I'm hoping Jeff, Bobby Jon, and Caryn all show up because they will be great if they do. I know they will, but I just hope it isnt too late.

Kim, I'm not expecting anything special from. I really thought it was nessa (a retarded girl who retired from gaming) but I've been informed that it is definitely not. So now we can expect a new retarded goddess to step up and own? I don't know, but she's a wildcard I'm hoping to see at some point...

So overrated. But then again, that's kind of the point entirely.

*turns into Episode 1 thread* :P

BJ, Jeff & Caryn have all shown up, yay for a full house icon_wub

It is far from "too late" to get an in over there. In fact the way all three missed the leader nom, they should naturally gravitate towards each other maybe?

I have about an hour to spare here, so let me do a little PM sniffing & a lap of confessionals, and I'll map out my own first impressions.

Counting fail icon_glare Kim has yet to show. Let's look at the rest so far;

Jolanda - Wow, this girl is full-on, popping alliance proposals in first PMs, the most frequent confessor so far too. I get the impression she's a bit of a control freak. She'd like Ibe as her #1 with a larger alliance growing to Gregg, then Caryn, and Tom kept as a fifth - not really included in the alliance, but there enough to make sure they get their way at the first vote, even though they originally slated the leader to be someone outside their alliance for an easy scapegoat, it's kinda evolving around them.

Tom - Don't let his "reluctant leader" bit fool you, he was campaigning for that slot subtly even if he didn't mean to. Laying out that no, we cannot have an inactive, dropping the noble qualities he'd like to see in a leader, then slowly easing himself into it. Now that he landed it, he has a good head on his shoulders about how to use it to his advantage and avoid making himself a target for it. Tom will be solid, and has already avoided the original "leader as scapegoat" plan I reckon.

Ibrehem - Not too much of an impression on him yet. Pretty good socially, maybe the best one so far? Seems to have a really good rapport with Jolanda at least, and is the one pulling Caryn into that set-up as opposed to Wanda or Tom. He's here for the long term for sure, plenty of time to find out more about him.

Gregg - typical Gnarls off-kilter humour is endearing him to most, but interesting it is part of the reason Jolanda sees Ibe as closer to her in that trio. He's doing what he does best though - just going with the flow while making good bonds with everyone. This will ensure he stays the course.

Caryn - I'm not sure exactly how she came to the conclusion that telling Ibe she was already close to Jo would work, but it did, and she's being roped in as number four in that set-up. I am really looking forward to future bitchiness, just hope she can deliver on her promise.

Bobbi-Jon - the late-comer that I have the least worries for. I feel so bad for screwing those dates up but seeing how quickly and correctly he's moving, it takes the edge off. Already building a safety net of the bottom feeders, but will easily work his way into the majority at this rate.

Jeff - has shown up, posted once or twice, and PMd here and there. But that's all I can really say about him so far.

Wanda - Wanda I do worry for. Yes she's here, but any impression she's made seems to be negative so far. She is going through the motions of PMs and posting at least, but there is a distinct lack of any connection to anyone happening. icon_unsure

Kim - No-show so far.

heh, I'm only dipping into Guatuso so far but that's already my favourite PM chain, she started it though with steering the conversation towards balls in the first place! He is obviously gonna bite if she fishes like that. Those two as a dynamic duo is gonna be laffos, but she is already a little wary of him holding the power and being closer to Brook in the ABCD alliance.

More on these guys later. I gotta nip out for a while.

I'm most excited for the early swap. Knowing that Ami and company have already settled into an alliance of 6 will be fun when they are split up. That's what we are hoping for. Big, solid alliances, so that when the swap happens it can all go to shit.

Brook wrote:
Ami wrote:Hey Brook, just so you know, Chad and Mia approached Chris and I for an alliance and if we said no, it would look like we were already in one. You and Dolly and Chris and I are THE alliance so I had to tell you. Honesty is how i roll. At the very least we know who they are connected to and we can work accordingly.

So i can deduce that Chris and Ami are the fast talkers of our tribe i think, ill try to solidate something with Dolly now for my group of 4.Ill have to have a think and see how im going to play this.

Its nice to know honesty is how Ami rolls though, because it sure as hell isn't how i roll

Not particularly commenting on this game, but you gotta wonder at a comment like this. "Honesty is how I roll! That's why I'm telling you about how I'm bullshitting these other guys!!" icon_laughing

The number of "fuck"s in John's first three confessional posts already makes him one of my favorites :lbf

I just finished a game with John and he is an honest to God good guy. I'm a little unsure how this leader role will fit him though, because is anything but a strength in challenges. He's just not savvy enough on the computer I think, it depends how much the leader role is responsible for, but he could certainly hurt the tribe if he has a critical duty to perform.

OMW John has certainly arrived. His seething hatred for all things non-Brook is pumping some life into a quiet weekend over there icon_chaos This idol clue ploy might not mean much yet, but within a round or two there will be fingers pointed all over the place as to who has the extra clue icon_laughing

I'm only dipping in briefly so far this morning but Guatuso is really starting to take shape. There's just too many wannabe masterminds over there. The biggest shift is that Mia has started pushing names out. Brook has taken a hold of said names (Lisa & Julie) and let them know as much, resulting in a backlash that might just end up with Mia becoming first boot over there icon_surprised

Mia IS Penny. Except better at challenges. No wonder Penny wants to back her. Odds of her making merge are probably 5:1 right now.

Mia is also dense since everything she needs to know is written in the paragraph. But it doesn't seem like John is reading anyways.

Also lol at Gregg saying "they" (meaning Caryn) have 12 pieces done when they actually only had 8. Color challenges and math challenges, don't seem to be in his wheelhouse.
